“When the heart is affected, it reacts on the brain and the state of the brain reacts on the heart” - Darwin
Mental health is health! It includes a major component of our whole health. Mental health is a state of well-being. It’s a multi-dimensional process which involves an individual’s emotional, psychological, physical, spiritual, and social well-being. It affects how we think, act and feel. It also helps us to determine how we handle and respond to life’s stressors, how we express emotions in a positive, nondestructive way, how we relate to others, and make healthy choices.
The whole person care (WPC) model is a patient-centered approach that integrates various healing modalities and considers the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, mental, social well-being and spiritual aspects of an individual. Whole Person Care considers the multiple factors that promote health or contribute to disease, including one’s biology, genetics, mental health, health habits, social environment, and an individual’s unique circumstances, experiences and needs. It’s a comprehensive approach to wellness that addresses the entire spectrum of human experience. Its goal is to empower individuals to achieve true wellness and live life to its fullest potential.
Mental health and spirituality/faith promotes whole person care, its intersection allows us to administer hope, grace, compassion, empathy and mercy not only to ourselves, but others. Being a part of a faith community can offer social support, accountability, and a sense of belonging. Studies show that spirituality and faith are important for our mental health.
Our training, development and coaching consist of strength-based, co-intentional instructional practice which places the participants at the center of learning. Applied methodology places the participants in the “role” of expert problem-solvers to mirror their real-life personal and work experiences. Each session will introduce the participants to new knowledge and concepts. Participants will be allowed time to reevaluate their current practices, opening them up to new strategies producing relevant meaningful and transformative learning experience.
